Concrete Repair Services in Whitby, ON

From heritage streets downtown to new phases in Brooklin, Whitby's concrete spans every era. TCR Pro repairs foundations, basements and exterior concrete across town.

Whitby stretches from the harbour at Port Whitby to the fast-growing village of Brooklin, and its concrete covers every era in between. Century homes line the downtown heritage streets, post-war and 1980s subdivisions fill the middle, and new phases keep rising in the north.

TCR Pro repairs all of it. Since 1998 we have worked as concrete contractors in Whitby and across Durham with one consistent principle: repair sound concrete instead of replacing it.

Heritage foundations near the core

The oldest homes around downtown and Port Whitby stand on foundations from an era before waterproofing membranes existed. Their parging weathers away, mortar washes out and basements run damp in spring.

We treat these walls on their own terms. Fresh parging protects and tidies the exposed surface, targeted repairs rebuild deteriorated areas, and moisture is managed with sensible combinations of grading, exterior work and interior control.

Subdivision homes and new builds in Brooklin

Whitby’s newer neighbourhoods show the standard life cycle of poured concrete. Shrinkage cracks appear within the first decades and begin leaking once grading settles, while builder parging and precast steps age faster than the house around them.

Full-depth crack injection permanently seals leaking walls, usually the most economical fix a homeowner will ever buy. Porch and step repairs, parging renewal and driveway resurfacing round out the typical new-subdivision list.

  • Basement waterproofing, interior and exterior, from Port Whitby to Brooklin
  • Foundation crack injection in poured walls of every age
  • Parging repair on heritage and modern homes
  • Step and porch restoration after freeze-thaw and settlement
  • Driveway and walkway resurfacing, plain or decorative
  • Garage floor epoxy coatings for daily-use garages

Water finds the low ground

Lynde Creek and its tributaries thread through town, and streets on low ground near them feel every wet spring. Add lakefront humidity in the south end, and Whitby basements have good reason to be checked at the first musty smell.

Our waterproofing starts with tracing the true entry point rather than assuming. The fix may be one injection, membrane work on a single wall or an interior drainage system, and we quote only what the house needs.

Walkouts and below-grade entrances

Brooklin and other newer Whitby areas include plenty of walkout basements and separate below-grade entrances. These features concentrate water at the lowest door on the property, and their stairwells, landings and retaining details need to drain perfectly.

We repair spalled stairwells, waterproof the surrounding walls and correct the drainage details that let water pool. Done properly, a walkout stays an asset instead of becoming the leak everyone regrets.

We also seal the finished stairwell and landing surfaces, because below-grade concrete collects melt water all winter. Protected concrete sheds that water instead of absorbing it, which is the difference between a dry entrance and an annual repair.

Scheduled Durham service

Whitby sits in the eastern half of our service area, so we plan visits efficiently, often pairing estimates and repairs with other Durham Region work. Appointments are booked to suit you and honoured.

For decorative upgrades, ask about the Graniflex flake system for porches, patios and garage floors. And for any wet basement, cracked wall or worn slab, contact TCR Pro, your repair-first concrete contractors in Whitby, for a free estimate.

Local conditions in Whitby

  • Downtown Whitby and Port Whitby hold the town's oldest homes and foundations, some well over a century old.
  • Brooklin and the north end have grown rapidly with new subdivisions, adding young poured foundations that are just starting to show shrinkage cracks.
  • Lynde Creek and its tributaries cross town, and low-lying streets near them deal with damp ground and drainage pressure.
  • Lakefront humidity and hard winter freeze-thaw cycles combine to work on exposed steps, porches and driveways.
