Concrete Resurfacing
Worn concrete restored with a durable overlay at a fraction of replacement cost. 120+ decorative finishes, indoors and out.
Concrete rarely fails all the way through. What fails is the surface: pitted by salt, scaled by freeze-thaw, worn grey and dusty by years of traffic. Concrete resurfacing replaces that tired surface with a new, durable wear layer while the slab underneath keeps doing its job.
TCR Pro has resurfaced concrete across Toronto and the GTA since 1998. Repairs come first, always: cracks are fixed at depth and damaged areas rebuilt before any overlay goes down, so the new surface is not just hiding old problems.

The Graniflex system
Our featured resurfacing system is Graniflex, a decorative flake and quartz broadcast overlay built in multiple lifts for strength. Its resin penetrates the capillaries of the concrete and cures into a membrane that stays flexible for good, instead of going brittle the way rigid coatings do.
That flexibility is the point: Graniflex is highly crack resistant and doubles as a moisture-controlling membrane, which makes it as much a protection system as a finish. Visually you get the look of granite or quartz, with thousands of permanent colour and chip combinations.
It works indoors and out: pool decks, driveways, walkways, patios, porches, garage floors, basement floors and kitchen areas all take the same system.
More finishes to choose from
Graniflex is one option among more than 120 decorative finishes we install. California knockdown gives a classic textured exterior surface. Metallic floors and liquid marble create seamless interior showpieces. Rustic finishes, flagstone looks, broom finishes and solid or flake garage systems round out the range.
Every finish is a real system installed to manufacturer specifications, not paint. Our decorative overlays page walks through the full library.
How resurfacing works
- Inspection. We confirm the slab is a sound candidate for an overlay.
- Preparation. Grinding and cleaning so the new layer bonds to concrete, not to dirt or old coatings.
- Repair. Cracks filled at depth, spalls and pits rebuilt, slopes corrected.
- Overlay. The resurfacing system is applied in the specified lifts and textures.
- Protection. Sealed against salt, UV and freeze-thaw so the finish lasts.
Resurfacing vs replacement
A concrete overlay costs a fraction of tearing out and repouring, takes days instead of weeks, and in most cases needs no permits or drawings. Replacement is only worth it when the slab has failed structurally, and if yours has, we will tell you straight.
Where resurfacing pays off
Outdoors, resurfacing rescues the surfaces winter punishes most: driveways, walkways, porches, steps, patios and pool decks. The overlay replaces the scaled, pitted top layer with a finish designed for freeze-thaw, and a sealer keeps salt out of it.
Indoors, it turns bare or tired slabs into finished floors: basements, kitchens, living areas and commercial spaces. Because many systems also go over existing ceramic tile or plywood after preparation, resurfacing often fits renovations where nobody expected a concrete solution.
The common thread is value. You get a new surface, in the finish you actually want, without demolition, disposal or a new pour.

Frequently asked questions
Resurfacing applies a new, durable wear layer over your existing concrete after the underlying damage is repaired. You keep the slab and skip demolition, disposal and a new pour. The finish can be a clean uniform surface or any of our 120+ decorative options.
A fraction. Replacement carries demolition, disposal and new concrete, and often drawings and permits. Resurfacing works with the slab you own, and in most cases no permits or drawings are needed. Send photos for a free estimate on your specific surface.
Properly prepared and sealed, a resurfacing overlay is a long-term surface, not a cosmetic patch. Systems like Graniflex are engineered to stay flexible and resist cracking instead of going brittle over time. Preparation quality is what decides longevity, which is why we grind and repair before we coat.
Most can, but not all. The slab needs a sound core; a surface that is failing through its full depth or sitting on washed-out ground needs a different conversation. We inspect first and tell you honestly whether resurfacing will hold.
